One of the 40 inner granite islands located around Mahé and Praslin, North Island epitomises the Seychelles. Idyllic white sandy beaches, lush tropical vegetation all against a backdrop of grey granite. A 20 minute helicopter ride from Mahé, North Island was uninhabited for over 30 years. Extremely fertile with ample freshwater and a large diversity of habitats it was the perfect island to develop a rehabilitation scheme to reintroduce many endangered Seychelles species and at the same time construct a luxurious resort so that visitors could experience this paradise.
