Spectacular sunsets, soft white sandy beaches and an
aquamarine lagoon with exciting diving combine to make
Komandoo an immensely attractive tropical holiday
destination.
Service on the island is both professional and friendly.
Dining is made exciting not only by the range of cuisine on
offer but also by the scenery that surrounds you.
It's one of the best resort hotel with lots of sports
activities and many others.
The perfect escape from the pressures of modern life with
age-old palms standing majestically as the resort's crowning
glory. Komandoo is the picture of a perfect tropical island
paradise. Coconut palms sway gently to their own music,
created by the rustle of their fronds be it around the
bungalows, the walkways or out on the beach. |

Thatched roof and sand under foot-
the main restaurant presents an atmosphere, which is simple
and tropical. Open on all sides, with cedar wood shutter
windows that can simply be closed in case of the odd squall,
from inside it presents a view of the beach and the sea and
the vegetation with its numerous coconut palms swaying in
the breeze.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in these pleasant
surrounds. All meals are served buffet style and the
professional chefs present you with a choice that will
certainly delight any gourmet. Breakfast offers a choice of
English, American or continental - it is yours to choose.
Dinner buffets at the Main Restaurant packs variety. If
it is an international buffet on one evening it is an
Italian buffet or a Mexican, Asian and Maldivian buffets
would also feature in the dinner buffets during your stay.
The Maldivian buffet, with its localised curries, delightful
fish dishes in addition to the 'roshi' a local flat bread,
yams and sweet potatoes, offers you the opportunity of
sampling the local fare. |

Komandoo is a haven for a relaxing holiday. Keeping in
line with this theme, the evenings' entertainment is
purposefully programmed to be low key, light and enjoyable-
the only exception being the disco evening once a week. This
too depends on whether you like it or not. If you would
rather have a quieter evening- which would obviously be
reflected from the level of activity on the dance floor- the
show ends.
The rest of the entertainment inclines more towards the
romantic. The 'Champagne Evening' or the 'Candlelight
Dinner' would certainly provide lots of romantic moments for
the memories. Just for a laugh and some fun the resort also
features 'animation' and bar games, from time to time, when
your talents and participation may also be called upon. |
Many different activities are available in Komandoo
besides diving and snorkeling. In front of the Bar you can
play Beach Volleyball, in the game room you can play table
tennis or darts. Badminton is also available. Selected
watersports are free of charge, as windsurfing and canoes.
Instructions in windsurfing or Top Cat catamaran sailing are
also available in our Watersports- center.
The house reef of the island is excellent for snorkelling.
However you may wish to see more of the underwater wonders
that the Maldives has to offer. With this in mind the
ProDivers Dive Centre organises snorkelling excursions. This
excursion takes you to two or three different reefs selected
from amongst the many dotted around the resort. |
A variety of excursions are on offer at Komandoo. These
offer you a range of possibilities for venturing out for a
change of scenery. You may visit resorts close by or catch a
glimpse of the daily life of Maldivians in one of the
fishing villages. For those who wish to test their skills at
fishing a variety of fishing expeditions are organised.
Excursions are organised on a weekly or twice-weekly basis.
However these are subject to weather conditions and a
minimum level of participation by the guests. |
